Gentleman and Lady
fashion print by Bonnard, 1680

lady only, for the time being...
décolleté lower bodice upper skirt shoe

The lady's summer habit consists of a petticoat and manteau of the same striped fabric, which was very popular during the early years of this manteau style. There is no noticeable skirt support - the skirt actually almost hugs her legs. The manteau sits low on the shoulders and is closed over the breast but opens slightly to reveal an embroidered stomacher.
